The Police Recruits Training Centre, Jahan Khelan, (Hoshiarpur) was established in the year 1947 at its present location. This Centre is spread over an area of about 155 acres of land on Hoshiarpur-Una highway, Its primary mandate is to impart basic professional training to the recruit constables of the district police other units of the state police and the Government Railway Police etc.
Moderate climatic conditions, verdant campus, ample availability of modern infrastructural back-up and highly skilled training staff go a long way in making the professional police training at PRTC a fulfilling and rewarding experience. Besides imparting basic professional training to civil police constabulary of the Punjab Police and other state police organisations, about 22 basic and specialized training courses are conducted on regular basis. At present 06 basic and specialized courses are being currently conducted at PRTC Jahan Khelan.
